Hey. I haven't played GW at all since the original post, but thanks for the positive feedbacks on the build though. I'm glad some people met with some of the same success I had found, and got several 10 streaks like I did. When I was running this daily way back when I was getting 2-3 in one sitting. As for the shield question, the PvP +45/Dmd-2 In Stance shield is the one. The AR of the sheld will not count, but the health and -2 dmg in Stance is necessary.
Once I get a gaming computer and start playing again, I may try putting wild blow in for gash after I get back into the swing of playing again. One key to the effectiveness of this build is the 2 interrupts, so I would not remove one, or be very hesitant to do so. Gash, although useful, may or may not be necessary. I would replace it with wild blow or may even try "None Shall Pass" as someone said.
Being kited from is a noticeable weakness, but not one that cost the match on a routine basis as I recall. Target switching was useful when this happened. Fighting versus monks having mend ailment rarely really did make or break the chances of winning. Theoretically, their healing is reduced substantially if they are kiting and casting mend ailment on themselves, though theorizing is useless when it's tried and tested. I remember substantially reducing their health in a short period of time mend ailment or not. Never did I fear a team with one or even more monks using this build.
Versus axe warriors, I remember a particular fight 1vs1 and it came down to savage slash versus his executioners strike when we were both less than 50 hitpoints.. savage slash was better in this case as it interrupted his and he died. As I said, the key was going into the fight with troll unguent up, even though he interrupted it with disrupting chop. Interrupts are great on wars too. I don't recall having trouble with wars on a routine basis, on the contrary it was them that had trouble. However I do remember one W/R that was running Mel Resiliance and interrupts, and for some reason it had no trouble against me in the lava.
I understand the hate for this build from people that tested it and didn't have success. It just happens to be one I enjoyed more than the usual success with.
~Thanks again. Glad some people liked it. R/W is definitely most certainly worth a PvE character slot, it is too fun and diverse a character not to play one.
